Do you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland? If you do I'm sorry to say that for the moment anyway, you won't be able to join Wikaniko as a Distributor, Club Member or Wholesale Buyer. Basically that will apply to you if you live in the Scottish Highlands and Islands (and that includes the North-east of Scotland by the way) or Northern Ireland. This is due to increased carriage charges. A lot of couriers charge extra to certain post codes which is absolutely ridiculous unless you're in Wick or Shetland or something. I live near Aberdeen. It's only a few hours from Edinburgh. We are civilised and this isn't the back of beyond for goodness sake!
This doesn't of course, stop you buying Wikaniko products. All you need to do is find someone locally, or even in your general area who is already a Distributor, who'll buy them for you and who is willing to post them to you if you're too far for them to deliver.
I costed out how much it would cost to post a 10kg parcel to Wikaniko HQ and it was around £7 which I thought was really reasonable. Unfortunately it seems that if you want to post things from England to Scotland it's not so funny and it would cost a lot more which I don't quite get. Especially when it's the same companies who are quoting. How does that work? Anyway, HQ have decided that it's not fair on the majority of Distributors who live in England to have to absorb this extra cost.
I really hope they reconsider when the recession improves.
In the meantime for anyone in any area of the UK wanting to order products, since I'm in Scotland and seem to have the benefit of much lower courier costs, please do feel free to ask me for products and I'll order them and have them shipped to you - no problem. My pleasure!
