Wikaniko Scotland - Welcome!: MAGIC ERASER

MAGIC ERASER

I was reading about the Magic Eraser and just thought I might try it on the shower door. Actually I wasn't holding out much hope. I hate trying to get the soap scum off the doors. It takes ages no matter what products you use and you usually end up just about gassing yourself from the smell!

Anyway. I stuck an eraser in the shower last night so I wouldn't forget and right after my shower the eraser was wet anyway so I just gave the door a quick swipe to see what would happen. OMG!!!!! I ended up doing the whole shower, tiles, showerhead, the lot! It was so quick and easy and no smell.  There was me standing my birthday suit doing the cleaning. Who would have thought it - not a pretty sight I must add but, oh well, there's only one mirror in there and I wasn't in front of it so that's OK!

When I made my little discovery I just thought I'd keep going since the eraser was wet anyway. (I must add here that I did get dressed first - I wasn't THAT excited!) I gave it a quick clean under the tap and decided to start on my cooker hood. Well.............it's not something I clean very often I'm sorry to say and it was really a bit dusty and greasy when I took my finger across it. Well let's say, I didn't want to do it twice! I tried a bit and it came up shining without any effort at all but the eraser was a bit messy so I decided to try it on a black shoe mark on my PVC door. Came right off! And the ones on my washing machine. Great! I went back to the cooker hood and finished most of it in about 2 minutes flat! Impressive. And no grit or soap suds flying everywhere or dripping water all over the cooker and floor. I left a bit so I could show a friend when she came over. She looked fairly impressed but just thought I was trying to sell it to her. Which I wasn't actually. Honest! I was just really impressed with it.  I'll maybe just give her one to try anyway.

They are really good value by the way because you get 2 in a pack and the normal size is only £1.99. You can buy a Jumbo Eraser for £3.79 which is what I'm going to do. You can then cut it up into handy sized bits so you don't waste a whole eraser if you've got a messy bit to clean up - like my cooker hood!

There are a few clips on Youtube showing people using the same kind of eraser - one with a really filthy bath. If it can deal with that, it can deal with anything!

I've heard it's great for getting stains off your teacups/mugs if you drink black tea. In fact, I'm going to try it on a few other things and I'll add to this little ditty if I find anything else it's really good for.

That's all for now folks!

PS - Well! I just got my order. I'd ordered a couple of jumbo Magic Erasers thinking they'd be double the size of one of the little ones - NO! You get 2 little ones in the small pack and the jumbo you get 1 - but it's 5 times the size of both the little ones put together! But not 5 times the price. Actually just less than twice the price. Do you think they've noticed???

I've decided to cut it up into bits slightly smaller than the small one because I noticed that I didn't really use the middle bit as much and I'm sure it would last longer that way.

Chuffed!!

Here's the official video. Pretty good actually.
